How LYBREL® Works
Like traditional birth control pills, LYBREL prevents pregnancy by suppressing ovulation.
When you take LYBREL, the lining of your uterus does not go through the changes needed for menstruation and, therefore, you do not have regular menstrual periods.
It's likely you will have some breakthrough bleeding or spotting when you start taking LYBREL. However, for most women, this usually lessens over time.
